Happy Birthday, Bama!

Just last week, Bama turned ten! Many of you have met or heard stories of Courtney’s dog (and McClenaghan Law Group’s unofficial furry mascot), and we thought you might like to know about this huge milestone! We had so much fun attending her tenth birthday party and celebrating her last weekend.

With access to some of the best veterinary hospitals in the world and major advancements in the pet medical field, it is not unheard of for animals to live much longer than years past. Many of our clients had close connections with their pets before the pandemic, but COVID-19 affected lots of families in a very unexpected way – it encouraged people to get a companion animal or strengthened the connection to the pets that they already had! The combination of these longer lives and stronger relationships means that many people are no longer only providing for their human children through their estate planning, but their four-legged ones as well!

Do you have plans in place for the care of your best-furry-friend in the event that you are no longer able to do so yourself? You don’t need to throw a birthday party for your dog to be a good candidate for a pet trust or other pet-related provisions in your estate planning.

If this is something that you think might be a good fit for you, or if you’d just like us to pass along Birthday wishes to Bama, give us a call or shoot us an email to let us know! As always, we can be reached at 614-429-1053 or by emailing courtney@lawdublin.com.
